Borders
- Measuring on a flat surface.
- Measure sides (should not be more than ¼ difference).
- Measure again. If right put your borders on put pin in center, then do average left and right ends.
- If you have fullness you will need to stretch and pin working out fullness while sewing.
- Repeat the same steps for top and bottom.
- Find center borders should be done with this method so your quilt has no waves and is easy to quilt and looks beautiful.
Example:
65 ½
65 ¼
Average: 65 3/8
Cut border 65 3/8
Pin center of each border and center of side of quilt pin ends. Ease or stretch depending on difference in length.
Note:
- The quilter will love you for doing this.
- If you don’t put borders on correct your last 2 rows will be unbalanced. The design will have a disfigured look because of having to work it in.
