What Is National Sewing Month?
National Sewing Month has been celebrated every September since 1982, when it was established to honor the artistry, tradition, and joy of sewing. More than 40 years later, it's grown into a beloved annual celebration of everything we love about the craft — from the satisfying hum of a machine to the pride of a finished project and the wonderful community that grows up around a shared love of fabric.
It's a time to try something new, dust off that project you've been meaning to finish, and celebrate the makers (past and present) who inspire us.
